SMIT is one of India’s premier technology and management institutes. The faculty members have been selected to do research on over 17 sponsored projects approved and financed by nationally acclaimed institutes such as DST, DBT, DRDO and AICTE.
Department of Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics, SMIT, has a strength of 13 faculty members who are actively associated in research work in different fields of pure and applied mathematics. This provides a perfect platform to the nascent engineers and mathematicians to enhance their knowledge in the fields of Mathematics. Faculty members have numerous publications in the reputed journals and conference proceedings. The department organizes conferences/ workshops sponsored by various funding agencies like DST, AICTE, UGC etc to promote the research environment among the students and faculty members. Faculty members are engaged in the research on current trends of Mathematics like: Industrial Fluid Dynamics, Thin Films, Nonlinear Waves, Wavelet analysis, Signal Processing, Fuzzy Logic, Graph Theory, Complex Analysis, Stochastic Process, Bifurcation Analysis etc.
Department of Civil Engineering
The Department of Civil Engineering at SMIT was established in 2009 and offers Bachelor of Technology (BTech) as well as M.Tech. in Structural Engineering. The Department, 16 experienced and qualified faculty members having Doctorate and Post Graduate degrees from prestigious institutions, has well established state-of-the-art facilities Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Survey, Geology, and Environment & Fluid Mechanics Laboratories. Students of the Department are exposed to the latest advancements in design & construction technologies with sufficient field exposure.
